Learn blackjack and play "basic strategy." It's simple and offers the best odds. A close second is craps. Both craps and blackjack offer a house edge of less than 1% (closer to .5% in fact).

Craps is probably more exciting than blackjack so you might opt for that if you prefer excitement. With blackjack, however, you can learn to count cards (a snap, really) and actually gain a small edge over the house.

You might also take a look at video poker. If you find a Casino that programs their video poker machines to a "9/6 payout," your odds are about the same as blackjack and craps. If it also has a progressive jackpot over a particular amount (as a percentage of a single max bet), it may actually be offering the player a slight edge! (Note, however, if you hit the jackpot, you'll have to submit tax information and the taxes on the jackpot will negate such an edge... unless you also claim an equal amount of losses.)

I'd warn you against playing poker until you really know what you're doing. True, the house doesn't have an "edge" necessarily, however they do take a rake (a percentage of each pot or entry fees in tournaments) which is SUBSTANTIAL! The truth is MOST POKER PLAYERS LOSE... even (if not especially) the ones that claim to be God's gift to the game.

Seriously, even the seemingly-most-knowledgeable people (myself included) that answer questions here, win very little at the game. And everyone else loses. Period. Few will admit it, but that is the truth. (Only about 1/3 of the serious players, and few if any of the casual players, make a profit. Would you really play a game where you're at best a 2-1 underdog
